Solar minimum


On this night, one of the strangest auroras I have ever seen painted itself onto the sky like an image taken by a wizard photographer from JK Rowling’s world.

See, normally, when it “dances” it moves, too, but in a rather coherent manner. You can clearly see how everything fits together.

On that night, however, it wasn’t. It went and came as it pleased, seemingly. Whenever we managed to set our cameras up right, things had already changed.

This one’s just a lucky shot. Looks like a whale’s fluke, too.
